SAFE BOATING MANUAL -  FOR ALL DISTRICTS

At the Oakland California Regional Meeting, the IOBG Auxiliary was authorized to purchase a safe-boating manual to be sent free of charge to each IOBG District Director.  The book is now available and will be shipped to me the beginning of next week.  I, in turn, will be shipping it to all district directors.  Water safety for children (and adults) will not happen if the book remains tucked away in a closet, so please make sure you show your free copy to your chapters.  The Auxiliary and districts with whom I spoke regarding this new book/and game CD are excited, and have asked for details regarding individual ordering for children and grandchildren.  The Student Handbook, "Water Smart-From the Start" is available for $5 a copy, plus shipping and handling directly from the Power Squadron.  Shipping and handling charges are based upon the number of books ordered.  One can go directly to the Power Squadron Website (USPS.org), then to Ship's Store, and then books.  The order # is 01-39-07.  You may also call the Power Squadron directly at 1-888-367-8777, extension 0.

Again, the IOBGA is excited about being able to present this book to your districts.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at richardjaniszewski@msn.com  Again, my thanks to Dave Meshulam, District 20, for letting us know about the availability of this wonderful "teaching tool" and for his assistance to me with the ordering process.

Best regards,

 Pat Janiszewski

......................................................

During this year, the IOBGA Operations Manual will be updated. P/P Carol Foote, P/P Shirley Willing, and myself will be working on this. Please let us know if there is anything you feel needs to be added and/or deleted, or if you have suggestions regarding this revision. Hopefully, we will have the new version on line before the next annual meeting in Seattle. Also, we will be looking at the By-Laws. Again, any suggestions, comments, will be appreciated.

Best regards,

Pat Janiszewski
